Trump blames Synagogue shooting on the Synagogue for not having “better protection”. You know, instead of the white supremacist shooter who yelled “All Jews must die!” with an assault weapon and killed jewish people.
Lets not forget last year he called the nazis in Charlottesville “very fine people”.

Hey there US friends! If you’re voting using these machines (Hart eSlate) or similar ones right now or in the near future, make sure that the machine has NOT changed your ballot before casting it, ‘k? It’s apparently an already known problem, and has been for years, but has never been fixed.
I did this last year and inexplicably turned out to be eligible for Medicaid in WV, which I STILL have. Absolute and total lifechanger that’s letting me go to school instead of having to work full time.
Texas election officials confirmed that voting machines used in 30% of its counties (including its biggest) are switching people’s votes, including the Senate race between Ted Cruz and Beto O’Rourke. The GOP-appointed officials say they have “no legal authority” to update them.
This is a long standing problem with eSlate machines in particular. It’s not just this election or just Texas. It is ABSOLUTELY screwing with votes though, so contact your reps and yell at them to do something about getting rid of these eSlate machines. Paper is more secure. And before you cast that ballot, make sure to triple check everything you want is correct.
– (to Mal) “You have your perfect little life, don’t you? Doesn’t she have the perfect little life? And we’re 20 years into a garbage strike.”
– (to Ben)
“’This?’ This island is a prison, thanks to your father. And don’t pretend to look out for me. Because no one’s looking out for me. It’s just me.”
“My mom doesn’t care about me either. Well, not unless she needs someone for the night shift.”
“When you brought Mal, Carlos, Evie, and Jay to Auradon… that’s as mad as I’ve ever been in my life. And trust me, I’ve been plenty mad.” (Ben: “I never thought about it like that before – that I could have hurt the people I didn’t pick.”)
From Mal’s Spell Book II:
–“There’d be no magic for us, no joy. Only bitterness and garbage piles (most of the time the sanitation department is on strike) and the feeling that you’ll never be able to get out of this place, no matter how hard you try.”
‘Sanitation department’s on strike’ – Uma, honey, after 20 years, it’s not a strike. It’s the sanitation department straight up refusing to come to the Isle.
Actually, you know what, I find this really confusing. We know from the posters that there’s a Bureau of Isle Affairs, and this quote states that there’s a sanitation department. How often are people from Auradon coming to the Isle? Someone must come to put up the posters, there’s meant to be a sanitation department, but most canon material heavily implies the Isle is pretty much completely cut off from the rest of Auradon. People in Auradon, even the king himself, seem to know very little about conditions on the Isle, but if people are travelling there semi-regularly it shouldn’t be that hard to get some information.
Well, the barges come every day (or they used to before Ben implemented a trade embargo to punish them for Maleficent breaking out), so maybe that’s the Bureau? And you’re right, that’s probably who puts up the propaganda flyers and posters. And I assume there’s some sort of census, because Ben knew which villains had children when he picked Mal, Carlos, Evie and Jay.
I think maybe this is one of those areas where the books and the films have diverged, continuity-wise. As I recalls in the books the goblins work the barges (and since they were apparently all exiled to the Isle, I assume they’re not part of the Bureau).
But still, if people are going to and from the Isle that often, why do people in Auradon know literally nothing about it? Is King Beast actively suppressing information? (actually now that I think about it, there was at least one line in the first book that implied exactly that…)
I think you’re right about the goblins unloading the barges. Someone has to steer them to the Isle though. They go outside the barrier. The pilot might just be barred from leaving the boat? Or maybe the bureau have super strict confidentiality rules? I don’t believe the bureau is ever mentioned in the movies.
It’s also possible that information is technically available in the government, but most people don’t pay attention to it because of their own lives? Information about oppressed areas in the West exists, but plenty of people don’t know about it because they haven’t seen it.
Although, it IS possible that there’s just a moratorium on mentioning the Isle’s conditions in Auradon’s news. Who knows? All we know is, at the very least, the kids don’t know anything about what the Isle is like before they end up there. Including Ben, which worries me.
Hey do y’all fucks remember two years ago when just before the election all these “don’t vote both parties are bad” or “vote independent!” Posts were going around and then Trump won and now two weeks before midterms there’s all these “don’t bother voting, revolution is the only way!” And “your vote isn’t gonna matter and is an ineffective way to protest” posts are going around? Yeah knock that shit right the fuck off, don’t fall for it and get your ass to the polls, we are not doing this again.
It has been widely recognized by American intelligence agencies that Russians are disseminating false information and have been urging citizens not to vote, the same as they did in 2016.
Do not fall for it!!! Your voice matters!!! Your vote counts!!!
Don’t trust anything that tells you not to vote, or to vote in a direction that won’t change anything. Remember that the people in power are actively trying to stop you from voting, because your vote matters.
DO NOT TRY TO PERSUADE PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR A CANDIDATE AT THE POLLS.
DO NOT ENGAGE IN ANY KIND OF POLITICAL DISCOURSE AT THE POLLS.
NO ELECTION IS EVER A SURE THING, EVEN IF YOU’RE IN THE BLUEST OR REDDEST OF STATES. IF SOMEONE TRIES TO TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN SIT THIS ONE OUT, THEY ARE EITHER IGNORANT OR MALICIOUS.
