If you haven’t already heard, Donald Trump has slashed funding for advertising the Affordable Care Act enrollment period by 90%. He has also cut the funding for local organizations that help consumers navigate the buying process by 41%. The time period to enroll has also been cut in half, giving people only 6 weeks to sign up between: November 1, 2017 – December 15, 2017.

These cuts mean that less people will be aware of the enrollment period and less people will be insured. Less people uninsured will also mean a drive up in premiums, making insurance unaffordable for many more. This is an intentional move to make good on his promise to let the Affordable Care Act “implode,” but it will hurt many people in the process. Many people will unknowingly miss the enrollment period and we cannot let this happen.

Since the president is unwilling to inform the citizens we must take action into our own hands. Spread awareness about open enrollment. I made the image above so you can save it and share it to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and whatever other forms of social media you might use. Tell your family and friends. Do whatever you can to make sure that people who need this information get this information.

This is one month away! Get prepared to sign up and please note this too:

The Trump administration plans to shut down the federal health insurance exchange for 12 hours during all but one Sunday in the upcoming Obamacare open enrollment season.

The shutdown will occur from midnight until noon every Sunday except Dec. 10.

The Department of Health and Human Services will also shut down the federal exchange — healthcare.gov — overnight on the first day of open enrollment, Nov. 1. More than three dozen states use that exchange for their marketplaces.

Gear up guys!

No no no no no.

I cannot stress this enough – do not call senators who do not represent you.

Best case scenario, they don’t listen and point you towards your senators. They don’t care if you like what they do or if you donate to their opponents or whatever, they care if you vote for them. If you don’t, they don’t listen.

Worst case scenario, they stop answering claiming ‘harassment’ or decide anybody anti-Graham-Cassidy is from out of their jurisdiction.

If you want to help, the best thing you can do is call YOUR senators and tell your friends, family, and followers to call theirs – or, if you’re not American, post and boost information saying call their senators.

You can find your senators here: https://www.senate.gov/reference/reference_index_subjects/Directories_vrd.htm

Also – a lot of senators are asking governors for input here. Call your governor as well! https://www.usa.gov/state-governor

Call

Call your senators about the health care bill and tell them you do not want the ACA repealed. Today was a vote to proceed on the vote for this. Tell them you do not want this bill.

Call if you have a Dem senator and tell them you appreciate fighting the bill. Call  if you have a GOP senator and tell them you don’t want it. Call YOUR senators. Other people’s senators will not tally your call and may use it to ‘prove’ their constituents support it because the opposition is from outside.

Can’t get through in DC office? Call district offices.

They turned off the phones or you have phone anxiety? Send emails.

Emails aren’t getting through? FaxZero is being very helpful with faxes.

No access to faxes? Snail mail.

5calls and it’s-time-to-fight.weebly.com both offer scripts.

Now light up those lines.

So You’re Worried About the AHCA

What can you do about it?

1) Call your Senators. If they’re GOP, tell them you do not want the AHCA, or any ACA repeal and to vote no. Especially considering they didn’t reveal it to the public until yesterday and the debate and discussion time is paltry. It’s been rushed and that’s not good for anybody. The ACA had hundreds of meetings and debates. If they’re Democrats, tell them the same thing and thank them for their party line against the AHCA. That is a good way to legitimize their position. They can point at their constituents and say you gave them a mandate.

2) Phone anxiety? Leave a voice message after hours or email

3) itstimetofight.weebly.com and 5calls offer contact info for your Senators.

4) Do this every single day. The vote is next week. It’s not the time to let up.

5) Spread posts encouraging people to call – share on Facebook, retweet, reblog. You can do this step even if you don’t live in the US. Get your friends to call or email.

Now, light up those phone lines!

You guys cannot let up. Call every day. The whip counts aren’t absolute until the vote is over. So keep calling.

These votes are coming up, guys. The last day of the first comment period is in July and the AHCA vote is rapidly approaching. Please don’t wait for the last 72 hours – call and guide the conversation instead.

Tell your senator you do not want the AHCA, or any ACA repeal. IF they’ve been opposing it, thank them for that. You need to flip three.

Comment on the FCC’s website you do not want net neutrality repealed. And of course, call your reps and senators to ask them to take a stand for it.

Yes, you can mention both in the same call and yes you can leave a voice message or send an email.

For all you night owls.

Also, if you’re in Georgia or South Carolina for tomorrow: https://iwillvote.com/locate

So, guys? The AHCA bill will be revealed on Thursday and move to the floor NEXT WEEK. You guys need to call ASAP and tell your senator to vote no on the repeal and no on the AHCA. Did you already? Great! Do it again. Are they against it? Call and thank them. You have to flip THREE to kill this thing.

This bill gets out TOMORROW. Please call.

This vote is NEXT THURSDAY EVERYBODY.

Light up those phone lines! Tell your senators you do not approve of the vote being rushed forward so quickly with no public meetings and little time for debate and you do NOT want the ACA repealed.
