i hope everyone is listening real, real close to what this prosecutor is saying

  • the media causes problems by “pouncing” on everything
  • the media, bloggers, anyone who questions the police in a public space — we are the ones who cause problems
  • don’t question the police or the justice system because they are the only ones who know everything
  • don’t question the grand jury’s failure to indict because they were presented evidence we do not have. their failure to indict is not a failure of the justice system. it is simply a function of information we haven’t been given (like what?)
  • don’t riot
  • don’t get mad
  • don’t think
  • don’t realize that this is horrific a failure of the justice system
  • listen
  • shut up
  • don’t ask questions
  • don’t act

it’s not white children being gunned down in the street. we’re here to support. do not speak out of turn, don’t try to steer the protest, don’t speak over the people who are at greatest risk of being shot by cops, don’t voice your white opinions unless asked directly. cooperate with protest organizers, don’t lecture people, don’t try to wrestle your way into leadership positions. stay in your lane. thank you.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

//I saw this happen to two blogs I follow, I clicked on one but managed to exit the tab before the virus did its dirty work. BEWARE OF THIS VIRUS!!

((This virus was also on Blastedroads too. (Which I actually thought they came back and got excited about it. Damn.) AVG (and hell, even Google Chrome) did a great job catching that thing for me before it did any harm. This virus distribution technique is a sneaky bastard. Hell, it fooled me thinking a friend came back to Tumblr and I don’t normally fall for that kind of bullshit. THAT’S how sneaky it really is. So I’m going to warn my followers here that if you see that tiny box bullshit going on, don’t click. Just run away as far as you can.))
