i want you all to know this comes directly from budget cuts in firefighter payments at the federal and state levels

california is increasingly relying on prison labor to accomplish necessary things, meaning they have made prison a necessary component of their economic system

which is to say california cannot cut down on its prison population even if they wanted to for prisoners are needed for californias very survival.

theyre ruining peoples lives because it’s cheaper to do that than to pay people what theyre fucking worth.

Allow me to elaborate on how bad things are here. 7 places are burning at the same time while in Μάτι and Κίνετα the fire not only burned trees but because off the strong winds(80 kilometes per hour) it burned houses, it burned people. Firefighters and volunteers do whatever they can with the little gear they have as always because why on earth would the goverment give money to firefighting vechiles, canadairs and literally anything else that could be useful in this country when we know that every summer someone wants to burn forests so they can build whatever they want. Anyways, people started running away once some firefighters managed to warn them to evacute ( something that others should have done because these people have to keep working so they can prevent the fore from doing anymore damage ). People started running to get to the beach which was their only hope, unfortunately some people with their families were trapped once the fire circurled the area around them leaving them with the only thing to do, wait for their end. Charred bodies were found locked in embrace the next day. Now the people who reached the beach had to wait there so they could be transferred from there to the port of Ραφήνα. Here’s a photo :

While the boats reascued people from the beach they also retrived 19 more from the sea and 10 bodies (I am not sure for the number). That’s a small peak off what has happened the fires haven’t stopped while there are many revivals of the fires. Let me add more information on the matter.

The deaths are officially at 79 by the most recent official announcement. Places like Mati, Kineta, Chania, Neos Boutsas and more are being burned to the core.

Minimum help is being given by neighboring countries. Officially 2 aircrafts from Italy and 2 from Cuprus whipe some are expected from Romania, Hungary, Spain.

There are abouy 31 people registred as missing in a web site while that doesnt mean those are all the people missing.

If you know people you know or suspect are missing call 199, the fire department.

If you are looking for someone missing don’t call hospitals, call 199, the fire department.

People got burned alive in their cars, in their homes.

Cars are literally melted by the fires.

The victims include children, thankfully the ones that survived are shocked, of course, but safe and in the hospital. The number of kids in the hospital ‘Παίδον’ (Pedon) in Athens is 11; 12 exited yesterday, and the kids left are expected to leave today.

The suspicion of the fires falls on arson. It something that Greece has suffered from a lot throughout the years. Yet we are never prepared for most of our problems whether it has to do with natural causes or not.

He didn’t just end up with the same problem he started with – he made it worse. Half of all life would include single-celled eukaryotes and all prokaryotes. That means that, unless he counted “destroying the gut biome of the animals he snapped” as the half, he removed 50% of the bacteria inside animals that said animals need to live. 

In other words, unless he went “50% of humans will be removed and so will the bacteria inside them” which I doubt, what presumably (based on this nonsense logic premise that I hate) happened was that 50% of every bacterial ecosystem disappeared, which would kill all the humans. Nothing can digest or be decomposed efficiently now you chucklefuck. 

He also probably caused global ecosystem collapse, since removing half of a species globally, even if it’s done neatly for “half in every area” interrupts delicate balances and could result in immediate destruction. With all the animals that made it through dying, there’d be waterway pollution, which leads to eutrophication, which causes algal blooms and makes water toxic, so any freshwater life that survived is probably dying now even aside from the microorganisms thing.

What if he happened to remove the female half of a species? Was it a two by two thing? Nobody ever specified. What about hive species? The bees would be completely wrecked by this – No more pollination! 

Soil would be being depleted since if plants die en masse there’s nothing to hold it still, reducing the agricultural capacity of the earth for a very long time to come. Not to mention the salinity issues that come from removing deep rooted perennial vegetation. For the record, salinity in the soil results in plants being unable to take up nutrients, resulting in, you guessed it, once again way more than 50% dying. 

And all this is assuming the snap was totally fair and destroyed 50% of each type of life in each area/ecosystem which I doubt. So the chaos wouldn’t even be predictable.

Essentially, Thanos completely destroyed every ecosystem on the planet, especially fragile ones, and probably catalysed near-complete planetary extinction, based on factors off the top of my head! Grape man, though art a mouldy spleen.

I have seen so many takes from people thinking there’s some sort of actual logic or a reasoned position behind Thanos’ goal.

No, he’s just a fucking mass murderer — the most successful mass murderer in the history of the universe (at least, until The Snap is presumably undone in Avengers 4) — and trying to make it make actual sense or be some sort of reasonable position is making the same mistaken implicit assumption of good faith that makes people try to debate Nazis instead of punching them.

Thanos certainly thinks his goal is logical and reasonable but Thanos also thinks that murdering thousands of people to build himself a magic glove so he can destroy half the universe is logical and reasonable so like…he’s not a good measure of these things O.O

I am genuinely BAFFLED how there can be anyone who thinks that Thanos was right in this film like

Were they missing the bits where he tortured one of his kids in front of the other kid to force her to help him?

Or the bit where he slaughtered a peaceful ship of refugees in the first five minutes of the film 

Or the bit where he abducted a child after murdering her family and half her species ._.

There is no logic or reason to what Thanos does he’s just a deluded butcher who wants to feel justified in his slaughter

Did she for real say that Slytherins were all supposed to be racists? Because man, I don’t think I read the same books that she wrote. 

I think at one point she said that no Slytherins took part in the Battle for Hogwarts because they didn’t want to be fighting family, implying that every single family with a Slytherin child was somehow connected directly to Voldemort and therefore his racist ideology. 

IIRC, she also said that some Slytherins did come back with the reinforcements. 

But I really don’t think it’s surprising. One of the things we know about the founder of the House is that he was very much into pureblood supremacy. I’m not surprised that the house selected (and then passed onto the Sorting Hat) for kids from families with similar views (along with things like ambition, cunning, disregard for rules, etc.)

I don’t think it’s realistic. For one, we know the Sorting Hat is not a pureblood supremacist or else it wouldn’t give a shit about the desires of the children it’s sorting. Two, the books state pretty clearly that there aren’t that many pureblood families left, so it’s unlikely that Slytherin House is populated by only Pureblood children anymore. Especially since the Sorting Hat sorts you by what you VALUE, not by what you ARE.

Also the idea that every single Slytherin child is complacent in their parents bigotry is unrealistic. There are support groups dedicated to helping children who want to escape rasict cults all over the world so I just can’t reasonably believe that no Slytherin children, who likely would have made friends among muggleborns and mixed bloods alike (because cross house friends are shown in book, and if all Slytherins were supremacists then that would likely not happen, and again I just don’t believe that the Sorting Hat cares about that, hello Sirius Black), would simply stand idle while their friends were being murdered. And even assist.

It just implies a passivity and evil that ignores how real people function.

The Sorting hat isn’t a pureblood supremacist, but we also know it’s picking houses as a stand in for the founders. So the kids who value pureblood supremacy, especially when a lot of pureblood supremacists have a family tradition of being in Slytherin (and while not all children will necessarily be sorted by where their parents were, houses running in the family DOES happen – see the Blacks and Weasleys. Probably because shared values, which is why Sirius ended up in Gryffindor). 

That’s not to say everyone in Slytherin is a pureblood supremacist because that’s not true either. We know there are half bloods and muggle borns in Slytherin (albeit, they are less common than in other houses before Voldemort goes down because, again, there’s a strong current of pureblood supremacy in Slytherin until after the war, so a lot of half and muggle borns probably wouldn’t WANT to be there). We also know some of the Slytherins returned to Hogwarts with the reinforcements (after a pureblood supremacist – Pansy – got them all ejected by mouthing off). 

I don’t think it’d be realistic for everyone in Slytherin to be pureblood supremacists, but I also don’t think it’s unrealistic for kids who ARE pureblood supremacists to be overwhelmingly sorted into Slytherin, because those are exactly the kinds of kids who Salazar would have picked.

The majority being discriminated against are called Uyghurs. Khazaks, Uzbeks, and Tajiks are also being ostracized. They are Turkic minorities. They are people. And the world is unaware.

There is an estimated one million people in these so called “re-education camps”. Uyghur people are being forced to assimilate into Chinese culture through marriage. Uyghur children are forced to learn Mandarin and Uyghurqi, the language, is prohibited to be taught in schools. There is a lot of Uyghur unemployment due to ethnic discrimination. Uyghur people are routinely, unjustly imprisoned, and many die. An elderly Uyghur poet was imprisoned. An Uyghur couple my family knows was beaten, and the wife suffered a miscarriage. These are just a few examples of discrimination.

Rebiya Kadeer is fighting for our voices to be heard. She is one of many who was unjustly imprisoned, due to her political activism. She was put on death row and was told to keep quiet or her family would be killed. More than 30 of her relatives have been unjustly detained in the concentration camps. Read her book (Dragon Fighter).

My culture is forcefully being erased. My people are dying. Who is listening? Who can help us?

This is ethnic cleansing.
